Ribbon Flower

Many times, I have short scraps of all papers from a workshop that are still useful, but not quite for a whole scrapbook page.  Perfect for a card!  This card uses the Blue Ribbon stamp set to show off the Sweet Leaf flowers from the Skylark Assortment.  Strips of paper from each B&T plus the zip strip makes a colorful striped background.

Two Techniques, One Great Card

Many people come into our lives, either for long time or short. And they do, leave imprints on our hearts. Thank them by sending a card made with images from the Skylark WotG.

This card uses two cool techniques.  The first one uses our awesome Kraft Cardstock.  Stamp image in White Daisy Pigment Ink and set aside to dry or heat to dry.  Stamp in Sweet Leaf or Lagoon ink over the original ink.  Very cool and east to do using our see-through stamps!

The second technique is from the Junkies in 2010, Acrylic Embossing.  I applied multiple in matching acrylic paint to B&T paper, leaving some lumpy areas, some flat areas.  After embossed, I used Slate Ink to pop up the patterned areas and made a really neat background image.  Mix up the colors of paint, ink, and embossing folder patterns to create many different looks.

From Scrapbook to Card...

Here is another example about how using the Skylark Workshop on the Go Scrapbooking kit can be used to make cards.  This idea comes from the additional layout example from the kit.  I used this card as a Congratulations card for someone who achieved something great.

Live in the Moment...and get messy!

Today's card is inspired by the stained embossing tutorial in the June/July 2013 Technique Junkies. You get a little messy with this technique from the ink and water.  Twist ties are wrapped around the embossed cardstock.  "Live in the Moment" was stamped in Lagoon and attached to the top of the card, with a little Sweet Leaf bird from the Skylark Assortment.

Skylark Extras

Skylark color scheme works really well with textiles and wearable art. Check out the pin below using CTMH Skylark Textiles and Base and Bling Teal Jewels.

Bird Lagoon

The longest part of constructing this card is the embossing. It is otherwise a quick and clean card. The theme this month is embossing, with many ideas using the embossing folders in the new Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book.  This card uses the Skylark Paper Pack, by cutting out the main bird image, and one of the subtle patterns in Lagoon.

Heart Imprint

Every new collection has a matching Scrapbook Workshop on the Go. But just because it has "scrapbook" in the title, doesn't limit you to that use. Ideas from the scrapbook pages can be used on greeting cards. The card today comes from the Skylar Scrapbook WotG.  I used this card as a Thank You for someone who did something special for me.

Triple Embossed Skylark

In the June/July 2013 issue of Technique Junkies, we learned how to do a triple embossing using Embossing Folders.  Adding Sweet Leaf and Desert Sand inks to pop out the embossing even more.

Birds on a Wire

One of the fun things about the new paper packs in this catalog is how some papers have printed "scenes" or clusters of objects printed on them, instead of just a plain or repetitive pattern.  The Skylark packet has a fun paper with birds on a wire over a really versatile grid pattern.  The other side is a pretty Sweet Leaf pattern with faux washi tape design.

This card came together easily.  Using a #10 business envelope as the guide, I cut the base cardstock, Kraft, 8 1/2" X 9".  The faux washi tape was cut out from the other side of this sheet of birds on a wire.  The Skylark Yellow flower and bird are from the Skylark Assortment.   Happy Birthday comes from a very useful stamp set for all occasions called Banner Wishes.

Skylark Sunday Scraps

The Skylark paper packet has a lot of good colors to mix and match, particularly with scraps.  As anyone who's attended my card making workshops knows, I am in love with all kinds of techniques.  That makes me a Technique Junkie!  Today's card is from the technique called Embossed Scraps, from the April/May 2013 issue.

Using the brand new Embossing Folders, emboss several different scraps with different lengths and widths and attach to the card.
