Last Days for What a Hoot!

 

We are in the last days for the September Stamp of the Month, What a Hoot!  Don't miss out on this super fun stamp set.  Not only does it have owl images, two of the owl wings can be used as Bat wings.  This cute card took no time at all to make.  

The balloon image and Happy Birthday stamp are from the Cricut Artiste Collection.  Pop the balloon and bat up using 3-d adhesive. Don't forget the inside sentiment.

Bird Lagoon

The longest part of constructing this card is the embossing. It is otherwise a quick and clean card.The theme this month is embossing, with many ideas using the embossing folders in the new Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book.  This card uses the Skylark Paper Pack, by cutting out the main bird image, and one of the subtle patterns in Lagoon.

Birds on a Wire

One of the fun things about the new paper packs in this catalog is how some papers have printed "scenes" or clusters of objects printed on them, instead of just a plain or repetitive pattern.  The Skylark packet has a fun paper with birds on a wire over a really versatile grid pattern.  The other side is a pretty Sweet Leaf pattern with faux washi tape design.

This card came together easily.  Using a #10 business envelope as the guide, I cut the base cardstock, Kraft, 8 1/2" X 9".  The faux washi tape was cut out from the other side of this sheet of birds on a wire.  The Skylark Yellow flower and bird are from the Skylark Assortment.   Happy Birthday comes from a very useful stamp set for all occasions called Banner Wishes.

Cloud Nine Extra

This card was quickly put together using the leftovers from my Cloud Nine kit.  Stamp sentiment on White Daisy cardstock in Lagoon ink and cut to size of label.  Add Aqua Dots to ends.  The Teal Shimmer Trim gives a sparkly touch to the three pennants hanging below.

Cornstalk Jute

One of the new items in the Fall Idea Book is Jute Ribbon.  Normally, the jute is a tightly woven ribbon, but it makes really neat shapes when you start to spread out the weave.  In this simple card, I pulled a few of the strings out from the jute and it started to look like a corn stalk.
