Smooshing Reinkers

As guest designer for the Color My Heart dare this week, I was given outdoor denim, gypsy and sky as my challenge.  I had reinkers on my table from last week's For Always workshop, so I decided to keep playing with them and here is one (of the many!) backgrounds I created using my reinkers and a spray bottle of water.  I have a little tray that I dropped reinker drops in random places and then sprayed liberally with water.  I placed a piece of White Daisy CS over the reinker/water and let it soak up into cool displays of color.  Then, I stamped in White Daisy Pigment ink and Outdoor Denim Dye Ink the star image.

  1. This is a pretty cool card, Jodi. I've never heard of that technique before. I will have to try it (if I can ever get any reinkers). I think someone will be happy to receive this one! Thanks for being our guest designer at Color My Heart!

  2. Love this watercolor effect, Jodi. The technique as well as the colours remind me of the marbled papers inside the covers of old books. Makes for a very pretty card. Glad to have you "playing" with the Color My Heart crew this week.

  4. Very cool technique! I intend to play with reinkers more for sure--after I order some! ;) Did you let the paper dry overnight before using it? Thanks for any info and for being our guest designer this week at Color My Heart! :)

    1. I did not let it dry overnight. It dried pretty quickly, but it does depend on how much water you spray.

  5. Fabulous card, Jodi! You inspire me to try this out soon! Thanks for explaining how you made the background. I also like the Artiste cut you used and how you arranged your card elements. Thanks for being a Guest Designer with Color My Heart this week and providing such a wonderful card!
