Welcome, Little One

A former student in my lab recently had a baby girl and I wanted to put a gift together that matched the baby's nursery.  Luckily, the new daddy posted photos for me to work from.  The baby's room is decorated in outdoors theme, with mountains, clouds, moose, and wolves.  This week's Color My Heart Dare asked us to use several colors that go really well with my idea.

Colors we were dared to use are Pomegranate, Saffron, Poppy, New England Ivy, and Colonial White.  I pulled out some papers from the retired Sangria and Fundamentals.  I used several CTMH outdoor stamp sets, including "Hook, Line, and Sinker", "Campfire Lifestyle", and "Cute Koalas".  I used the Poppy Thick Twine to create a horizon in the distance.
The Sun was created by punching a small circle, and using the leftover cutout to mask the area for the sun, with Pomegranate, Poppy, and Saffron inks.

FMS: Explore Your World

Freshly Made Sketches this week put up a perfect sketch for a card I wanted to make for the son of my husband's friend.  He just graduated from high school, and decided to live at home while going to college.  We decided to get two gas cards to help him get back and forth to school.   The front image "Explore Your World" is a stamp from the Timberline Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go.

I rotated the FMS design and used dimensional adhesive to lift up the front enough to hide the two gift cards.  I attached Cocoa ribbon to the cards to make it easier to pull them out.

The inside sentiment is from the Congrats Graduate set and the Banner Wishes set.  If you can't tell, the Banner Wishes set is my absolute favorite stamp set with perfect size fonts for card fronts or inside sentiments.
