Convention 2015: Roomie Gifts

While I'm at convention, I thought I'd share the gifts I gave my roomies this year.  Normally, I try to make something, and I had grand plans this year too.  That didn't really work out.  My other fun job, studying the ocean, got in the way.  But, I did have fun putting these super bright fun goodies together. 

 

A container is good way to start off the gift.  I found these super cute (and bright!) shaker containers. I'm not sure what they are supposed to be used for in the normal world, but in the crafting world, I think they could be used for glitter or empbossing powder dispensers.  And with the nice cap on top, you can prevent any accidental spillage.

 

Every year I choose a charm that goes with the theme or destination for convention.  A few weeks ago, Corporate announced this year's theme will be based on Disney's movie, Up.  I found these awesome charms on Etsy, made by Mint Marbles.   Aren't the balloons clever?  She makes lots of really neat jewelry, so head on over to check out Nicole's store.

Even though I have only two roomies, a lot of the same group coordinate plans for months beforehand on Facebook.  These gals will get one of the buttons below.  I got a mixture of buttons from the Etsy shops of Artemis Accessories and Cool Pin Buttons.

Make It From Your Heart

Convention starts tomorrow and I'm on a flight today, super excited about what's to come.  Our annual convention is a way to find out about all of the new products and programs that will be available in the coming year.

Artistic Adventure Mini-Album

Sturdy boards.  Heavy duty three rings.  Kraft cover that soaks up ink or makes a good background color.  These are all the pluses and more that I found while working with the CTMH My Creations™ Kraft 3-Ring Album for my roomie gifts for convention.

I don't usually scrapbook in such bright colors, so these albums were a fun change of pace.  The size is great, 8" X 8".  Not too big and not too small.

The Disney Cricut Carts helped with remembering the location where the convention was held, Disneyland Hotel.  I actually used all three CTMH cartridges in making the pages for the book (Artbooking) and all of the non-Disney elements for the book (Artiste and Art Philosophy).

 

These cute little tickets and license plates are from the Disney Cricut Cartridges.  I added these on the inside pages.

Disney Mini-Album

Everyone knows the iconic Mickey from Walt Disney.  Three simple circles can mean so much. In my world, those circles can represent the H₂0 molecule of water.  But our crafting convention this year was in this representation's backyard.  We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and had a glorious (although exhaustingly fun!) time.  One of my roomies, Heather, put together this really fun album in the shape of Mickey!  I don't see "H₂0", I see Mickey.  Can you see him?

Each page inside is filled with even more goodness...stamped pages, interactive elements, and lots of bling!  While at Disney properties, hunting and counting Mickey's is a fun game.  Can you count all of the Mickeys?

Glitter Gift Card

Sometimes a project just needs it. You know what I am talking about. It's shiny, happy, sometimes get stuck to your cat. Luckily, we can get this great shiny effect using CTMH glitter paper without all the mess. And even better, it is easy to cut on the Cricut! 

 

 This card is a nice gift card size, 3" X 3".  The sentiment was stamped on a cut-out from the Cricut.    The Artiste Cricut Cart makes many different sizes of different envelopes and can make them small enough for this card.

 A tradition with convention are charms.  I love to seek out a charm that will remind me of each convention that I attend, and share with my roomies.  This year, my upline, Gail, surprised us with a princess pumpkin and castle!  Awesome, yes!

Glitter Paper

Lovely Spring Box

 

Sometimes I find a little treat or surprise that I want to give to a friend or loved one.  I want to wrap it up, other times I need something a little heftier like a little box.  But sometimes boxes can be so boring, and industrial looking. 

Enter the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge!  You can create a cute box using cardstock and our awesome patterned B&T paper.  Top the box off with great rolled flowers which are really easy to make.  This box, using the Skylark B&T and Kraft CS was created by Denise from Inspired by D.  She was my roomie at convention this year.

 

  Don't forget the quilling tool and larger adhesive dots!  The quilling tool will help you roll the flowers and the larger adhesive dot will help you hold it all together.

Life is Good

Team Meetings are a fun way to kick off convention festivities.  Kim is a Senior Executive Director and my several-grand upline at CTMH.  Her team meetings are silly fun.  We win prizes.  We learn about her family and how the Stamper's with Attitude team is doing.  And we usually get a little art project to work on.  This year's mini-scrapbook used the Chantilly paper pack.

The mini-album is made using  3 large My Creations Paper Pouches, with two holes punched in the closed ends to thread fiber through to hold it all together.

Use the bitty sparkles to glitter up the cover image on a stamped Cricut Art Philosophy image.

 

 Several cute pages inside using Cotton Candy and Pear CS, along with Chantilly B&T paper.

Because the pages are pockets, three pull-out cards can be inserted into the pockets, making a nice little mini-book.  Round paper circles create tabs to help pull out the inserts.

Paper Strawberries

Another convention gift from Kelley was a fun haul.  She wrapped it all up in a red plastic cup that she decorated with white dots and personalized it with my name and topped it with pretty black, white, and red ribbons.

All of the haul.  A pen and Post-its to mark in the new Idea Book, sweet treats for a pick-me-up, Purell to keep the germs at bay, and a cute paper strawberry.

Roomie Gift

Convention gifts between consultants is a tradition.  It is fun to get crafty gifts, little sweets to take us through the longer days, and other "survival" gifts.  This year, Denise, kept with the Disney theme.  

She made a cute Disney Tag with black sparkles as a mini-Mickey.  Whimsy Caps spell out DISNEY.

This cute and happy card is perfect for sending birthday wishes.  I love the layering effect and the generational stamping.

 These goodies and more came in a cute Disney Princess bag.
