Antarctic Negatives

Most of you know I am an oceanographer and adventurer, as well as a memory preserver and crafter.  Steve Meltzer wrote an article that hits home with everything I love.  The Antarctic is a place of wonder and adventure.  Just look at the folks stuck in the ice for so long this Christmas.  Preserving the history of exploration and science from that foreign part of the world is important to understanding both the environment of Antarctica but how humans can live and interact in such a harsh life.  Conservators working to preserve that history came upon negatives that they believe to be 100 years old.  Imagine finding something like that in your attic!  You can see more of the photos here.
